Check out these stellar ideas - and apply them to other apps as well (i.e. ShowMe, EduCreations, Seesaw, etc)

One successful way to provide formative assessments throughout your lesson is to incorporate multi-media quizzes. My favorite is a tool called EDPuzzle but there are plenty of other choices. This chart will help you get started with bringing your lesson to another level. Whether you want to check student understanding during the lesson or check in with them after the lesson is over, these tools will help you create and collect valuable information from the students, which will help your decisions for next steps!

Teachers who use Newsela LOVE it! Primarily for grades 3+, Newsela is an innovative way to build reading comprehension with nonfiction with current events.
